Coachella Outfit no. 2

Coachella Outfit no. 2

For day two of Coachella, I opted for something a bit darker and more rock 'n roll. The glitter tights are definitely a head turner, I've gotten a bit shy wearing them out to regular places just because EVERYONE stares! UNIF shirts are super soft and really baggy and airy, so they are perfect for keeping you cool. My black Dr. Martens I've had since I was 13, so they are perfectly soft and worn in and by far one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I own. I'm a big fan of backpacks, and I have a few black leather ones that I plan to use. And of course, a refillable water bottle. Every year, the H&M tent gives free water, and we always make the long line. Water is ridiculously valuable at Coachella.

Agyness Deyn X Dr. Martens (Spring 2013)

Agyness Deyn's new Spring collection for Dr. Martens was released yesterday. The collection is perfect for Spring, more specifically Coachella, and features a lot of eyes. And that's kind of a smart move on Aggy's part, eyeballs have been more and more popular lately. For street wear. Let's just get that clear.

Clarks; Gabor; Clarks; Dr. Martens; Clarks; Hunter; Heavenly Feet

I'm quite obsessed with black boots. Whether it's ankle, over the knee, shearling, lace up or chelsea, I've created quite the collection. Since it's the middle of winter, I decided to do a post on my little obsession. Above are some of my favorite styles and favorite brands including Dr. Martens, Hunter, Clarks, Heavenly Feet and Gabor.

All of these styles and a lot more are available on the retail shoe site Shoes by Mail, or you can click HERE.

Pendleton X Dr. Martens

There's a new collaboration to look way forward to! Oregon brand Pendleton are teaming up Dr. Martens for a very hipster collaboration that should be released next Spring. The collection was shown at Project in Las Vegas a few weeks ago, and I have no idea how I'm just now finding out about this. There are only two colors and styles so far, but I'm sure they are to be fast sellers, and more colors will be headed our way. This will definitely be bringing out my inner hipster next year.

before i go under the ground

So finally the collection is here! Agyness Deyn for Dr. Martens, and it's kind of great. Not super amazing great. But still, gotta give the chick credit. It's very 90s, daisies, plaid, and the return of waffle knit! While I'm seriously loving the clothes more than the shoes, I'm going to definitely get my hands on that daisy dress, before it sells out.

Muse Monday: Londoners

london calling

This week's Muse is dedicated to the British girl. Obviously, the Olympics have had my head completely in London, so why not jump on the band wagon. Especially if it's headed across the pond. Featured are House of Holland, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, and of course, Dr. Martens. All pretty essentially British. I only wish I could have put some British food in the set, then again, I don't want to deter anyone. So this set is mainly dedicated to the Brit girls that come to mind, like Kate Moss, Agyness Deyn, Alexa Chung, and anyone else that you can think of that makes you want to have some cool British accent. I reported a while back that I thought the Americana trend would be put to an end by the Brit trend, I featured a ton of Topshop with it also. It seems my prediction is headed into the right direction. I've been seeing a ton of Union Jacks where the American flag used to be. I guess we'll just have to wait until Fashion Week in September to decide who will really take over.

the search for cherry red

Apologies for the slightly grainy photos. Sometimes they come out great, other times they don't. Anyways, bought another pair of Docs this week, ox blood color, and that makes pair number 5. So since I can, I put all my Docs in a line and took a photo. A family photo. That makes me smile inside. I also went to some event at the Hammer Museum a few weeks back and I was very surprised at how nice the place is. I don't live on the Westside and the Downtown LA area is mainly where I hang out, so it was my first time at the Hammer. Very cool place and a very cool event put on by KCRW. Also, some purple/iridescent Betsey Johnson leggings I uncovered while emptying out part of my closet. Lastly, some Zara boots that I scored for a cool $50. Pretty rad considering they were originally $150. By the way, I'm returning them at the Zara location in Pasadena so if you're in the area and are a size 8, you may be able to find them there.

Dr. Martens X Agyness Deyn

Happy to announce on a new Dr. Marten collaboration with model Agyness Deyn. Muse worthy Deyn has incredible style, and if you won't take my word for it, you gotta take Dr. Martens word on it. The collaboration will be available worldwide in August, just a few weeks away. On the Dr. Martens site, they released this statement on what we can expect:
"Agyness worked closely with the Dr. Martens creative team, designing pieces that merge a grunge aesthetic with modern styling, quality prints, and bright colour pops."
That. Sounds. Awesome.

cause i wanna take you downtown

Some photos from the past week, including a group of palm trees off the 101 Freeway, a Free People slip dress and my floral Docs, some street art in Echo Park and Downtown LA and my new cross earrings I bought in Little Tokyo next to my shark tooth ear cuff from former featured designer Red Wolf Treasures. Just so you know, I'm 20, and I have no idea why my hair looks grey in the last shot.
