Muse Monday: Haim

Le HAIM

Le HAIM by annie-neil featuring a black hat

It's been a while, but finally an all girl group that's really worthy of being a bunch of foxy muses. Meet the band Haim, the beautiful union between three equally beautiful sisters: Este, Danielle and Alana Haim. While these Los Angeles natives have garnered quite a bit of attention for their looks and style, their music is what's really pushed them out into the spotlight this festival season. They opened for Phoenix on their tour earlier this year and are playing the Austin City Limits, iTunes and Treasure Island music festivals. What I really love about them though, is there's at least one always wearing Dr. Martens and all three don the unofficial Haim uniform of ripped jeans, head-to-toe black, dark lipstick and sleeveless tee's. Oh, and leather. Lots of leather. And how can you not adore three girls like that?

Muse Monday: Kelly Osbourne

Who's Rockin The Dee? Kelly!

This week's Muse is Kelly Osbourne. She definitely deserves the title for more than several reasons. She's one of the few girls still totally rockin' lilac hair like it was a brand new thing. Osbourne even makes grey hair look totally desirable. Not to mention her arm candy and recent fiance Matthew Mosshart (brother of The Kills' Alison Mosshart). She includes Alexa Chung, Kate Moss and Leigh Lezark as close friends, oh, and of course, is the daughter of Ozzy Osbourne. Everyone forgets that a lot, she's the daughter of a rock god. I think I'll stop the list at that, it's reason enough to be anyone's Muse.

Muse Monday: Lily Aldridge

Street Style: Lily Aldridge

Lily Aldridge is best known as a fashion model and sister to fellow model Ruby Aldridge. While the Aldridge sisters both have serious style, Lily is definitely more classic. Always with the latest accessories, Lily definitely knows how to put of-the-moment pieces together in a way to make them much more desirable. If Audrey Hepburn was young today, she and Lily would dress exactly the same. Take a closer look, and you can see she takes simple items and elevates them. For example, plain black pants are so boring, but leather black pants? Lily can make a simple outfit unique and still keep it totally classy.

Muse Monday: Daisy Buchanan

Gatsby Mania

With the release of The Great Gatsby this Friday, all I have on my mind is Daisy Buchanan. Love her or hate her, the main female character in F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel has readers dreaming of what Daisy would be like at a party. Personally, I'd love to party with her. Daisy may be all over the place and unstable, but she sure can party. A flapper supposedly inspired by Fitzgerald's wife, Zelda, Daisy is a ball of fun. She's intriguing, energetic and in the best way put, "a beautiful little fool."

Muse Monday: Rita Ora

Rita Ora in Berlin

This week's Muse is the lovely singer Rita Ora. I'll be totally honest, I'd never actually heard a song by Rita Ora until I got my Elle issue this month with her on the cover. I have, however, seen Rita Ora all over the place for at least a year. She first landed on my radar because of her BFF Cara Delevingne. After that, she became a muse to one of my favorite designers Hedi Sliman, right when he came out with his first Saint Laurent collection. The last thing that made me solidify the idea of making her on the blogs Muses was two weeks ago when she was seen at Coachella in all UNIF. If Cara and Hedi adore her, and she adores UNIF, Ora's got what it takes to be our Muse.

Muse Monday: Chloe Norgaard

chloe norgaard appreciation

This week's Muse is model Chloe Norgaard. Norgaard is known for her Rainbow Brite hair that's constantly changing. She's definitely a cool model with a laid back style and an attitude to match. Constantly photographed with friends like the Cobrasnake, you can imagine Norgaard is quite a party animal, which you kind of have to love. With has looks to kill and a ridiculously perfect 90s style, Norgaard catches everyone's eye. Norgaard is the type of girl everyone wants to be friends with, for the clothes and the wild parties.

Muse Monday: Corey Mason

Empire Records

So like I've said in the past, not every Muse has to be real. Fictional characters, in my opinion, are so much more fun. In this case, Corey Mason, played by the lovely Liv Tyler in the cult 90s flick Empire Records. With her unofficial uniform of perfectly cropped sweaters and plaid mini skirts, Corey's wardrobe is a casual grunge look, which has become a pretty popular look. Corey has the awesome job of working in a record store and still manages to be on a path to Harvard University. She single handedly proves that just because you're smart, doesn't mean to can't look rad and have a kick-ass high school job. If you haven't seen the movie, I suggest renting it, because it's not just Corey that has an awesome 90s style.
