A trend that's been really popular for the past few months has been the circle skirt. Also called the skater skirt, it's probably the most flattering skirt for any shape or size. It sits high on the waist, which is perfect for crop top pairings, and immediately extends out, hiding any flaws you might have. It also accentuates your back side, if that's your thing. Anyways, Asos by far has the best selection, although I found quite a few at Topshop as well. The only one I have is a plain black one from Topshop. At only $30, it was definitely worth it. It's extremely easy to dress up or down and I can't reiterate enough how fucking flattering these things are!

Online retailer Asos has some pretty great things going for it this week. One: everything is 20%off. Two: their new magazine has Sky Ferreira on the cover. Three: Sky Ferreira handpicked over 150 items from the retailer. The lookbook, reminiscent of a skate punk turned juvenile delinquent, features Sky in some of the items she picked. As part of the grunge movement, for some reason, food has been a hot item. Food on clothes. Usually junk food: hamburgers, ice cream, pizza and anything else these size 0 girls aren't eating. Maybe as a cheeky reminder that these girls don't go near calorie bomb foods. Needless to say, retailers are really catching on. Above is the latest lookbook from online retailer Asos, along with a tumblr picture that's been circulating. One of many that has to do with junk food. It's not just Asos though, everyone from Dolce & Gabana to Black Milk have caught on to the food phenom. Anyways, whether or not you're into it, you gotta admit, these pics make you really fuckin' hungry.

I don't have Discovery Channel, so I no longer participate in the hysteria that is Shark Week. I'm bummed, because I did watch it every year. Anyways, although Shark Week was several months ago, and summer is completely faded, let's do an homage to sharks. It might have been Givenchy's take on sharks, or it may be the hatred that summer is over, which ever one, sharks have been pretty popular lately. Some of my favorites are above. Don't you want to go swimming now?

So, the normal "safe" dress is the LBD. Pretty much everyone knows that. Whether you're going out, staying in or just hanging around the city, the little black dress was a fall back for women who just woke up and didn't know what to put on. I've been there, and I think everyone else has too. But when Spring and Summer roll around, the LBD during the day looks way too Winter gloom. So a few years ago, I started "collecting" floral tea dresses. Same concept as the LBD, but extremely appropriate for summer. I have quite a decent collection of vintage ones, which are personally my favorite. Pair 'em up with some Dr. Martens, and you have a perfect indie/90s grunge vibe to your outfit that looks fresh and effortless. (Double points if you have a floral dress with matching floral Docs!)

 I don't know why I haven't done a post on mint green sooner since it was pretty obvious last fall what Spring's new favorite color would be. Pastels overall are going to be quite popular, but I personally adore the mint green color. Above were some great pieces I found on numerous websites. A hint for finding mint green pieces quickly: just search "mint" on Asos, Topshop, or any of your other favorite store sites. I already have a few pieces and I think one of them was made for Day Two at Coachella.

Balenciaga; Jeffrey Campbell; Asos

So about a year ago Balenciaga came out with these crazy cut-out boots. Next thing you know, every girl is wearing them (Karlie Kloss, Mary-Kate Olsen, Rumi Neely) so the knock-offs were inevitable. The first major knock-off was, of course, Jeffrey Campbell who has done knock-offs plenty of times, so it was no surprise when those came out. And of course, Asos soon followed, but despite the fact that these boots are knock-offs, I mean, who really cares? They're still insanely awesome boots! And anyways, the Balenciaga ones are sold out.....
