Muse Monday: Cory Kennedy

Cory

I'm not too into those girls who are famous for nothing. Here in LA, there's a lot of those girls. I don't pay too much attention, but a while back, one girl in particular had the internet buzzing, and all the local LA papers had articles about her. Cory Kennedy is famous for essentially being stick thin, having cool friends and having a ridiculously rad sense of style. Mainly her friendly connections have made her famous and those friends include the Cobra Snake, Lindsay Lohan, Albert Hammond Jr., Jeremy Scott, Paris Hilton, Peaches Geldof, Florence Welch and Agyness Deyn, although those are really the only ones I can currently think of. She has been on the cover of WWD and Nylon, written about in LA Weekly and Gawker and is basically always somewhere. Her blog which is mainly a photo diary, hi-lites her crazy parties with her insane friends in posh clubs all over the world. A girl about town with a killer style, Kennedy dated James from Klaxons, which definitely solidifies her as a Muse. If a Klaxon loves her, we can certainly do the same.

Jeremy Scott X CNN

So at our hotel room in between Coachella days, my friends and I fought (more or less) over control of the TV. I LOVE CNN. I didn't mean for all of that to be in caps, but I LOVE it. Unfortunately, I no longer have CNN at my place so whenever I'm staying at a hotel, that's the only thing I watch. It was to my surprise that Jeremy Scott was a featured story on CNN, making headlines with his insane Adidas shoe collaboration. Here's the video, it's begins with a short slideshow of some of Scott's insane Adidas shoes and a short interview with the designer himself. Get to know my favorite designer a little more in this video.

i will only let you down

Some photos from the past week including a kick-ass tent, sculptures and buildings in Downtown LA, my Jeremy Scott leggings and my Coachella ticket/wristband. Sorry for the insane lack of posts. This week has been pretty hectic, but I promise I'll try and post everyday for at least the next week. "Like" le rebelles doux on Facebook and I always let you guys know when I'm skipping a day's post. Stay tuned for much more this week.

flame on

Jeffrey Campbell Lita boot; UNIF sweater; Jeremy Scott S/S 2012; Prada S/S 2012

You know a print is popular when Jeffrey Campbell makes a Lita print for it. Behold the latest "wow that's everywhere" print: flame print. While it screams cheap 90s biker, like I keep repeating, the 90s are going to come back. I feel like I've hyped this up so much it might never happen. Although the editors at Nylon and Elle magazines do agree with me.

unconventional prints

Floral prints are apparently way too overrated for this Spring. At least that's according to Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Jeremy Scott and Givenchy. Unconventional, quirky and fun new print patterns were seen all over the runways last fall and this may be something you may be seeing in Forever 21 and H&M any day now. Then again, I can't really imagine 14 year old girls running around the mall wearing chili pepper prints.

i've been waiting, waiting and wishing

velvet Doc Martens; Rodarte hair comb; Jeremy Scott pill leggings; T by Alexander Wang shirtdress; Alexander McQueen scarf

My holiday wish list. I have three pairs of doc martens and I truly believe that you can never have enough. Not to mention they're supposed to last for the rest of your life!

I've been really loving Rodarte more and more each season. They have this perfect romantic edge mix and I absolutely love this art-deco style hair comb. It looks like it could be a vintage piece from the 1920s.

Jeremy Scott is, however, my favorite designer and I try to get something of his each season. It really depends on the items though, as I do not have money to burn. Luckily for me his leggings are always moderately priced.

I absolutely love chiffon, especially when used in that whole "censored"trend. T by Alexander Wang gets more and more intricate each season (remember when they started out they literally had about 5 plain pieces)!

The skull scarf by Alexander McQueen is practically iconic and every year I try to make room in my budget to buy one, but Topshop and Opening Ceremony are too tempting, and in the end, they usually win.

open sores and open jaw

One of the first things I notice about someones outfit is their shoes and sunglasses. These girls have seriously amazing shoes and/or sunglasses. (FYI: the girl in the last shot is wearing a Jeremy Scott dress.)

crying lightning

So I'm still not over the whole galaxy/cosmic mini trend (my Jeffrey Campbell "Cosmic" Lita's JUST came in!!), and already, a slight prediction into a new direction. A new natural wonder prediction, that is. Lightning is something I've been slightly seeing more and more often. I much prefer the literal scenes of lightning instead of the implied versions (the Topshop dress at the top), but for now, this will have to do.

you're so hot Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott x Swatch

Jeremy Scott is my favorite designer. Hands down. No ifs, ands or buts. So you can imagine my excitement when he started making limited edition Swatch watches for the Swedish retailer. The (kick-ass) watches don't hit stores until this October, but until then, I have to swoon.

Some FYI on Jeremy Scott:
  • Lady Gaga adores him (she's wearing his designs in her 'Paparazzi' video)
  • Katy Perry loves him (she appears with him in last springs Adidas commercial ad)
  • Front row regulars at his shows include Kanye West and Kelly Osbourne
