nyfw s/s 14

New York Fashion Week wrapped up this week with the usual suspects present at every major show. NYFW isn't the most impressing when it comes to all of the fashion weeks. New York has a very tailored and classic approach. Being safe with tailored separates was the norm pretty much everyday. The shots above, however, stood out the most. Still very tailored, but fun prints and accessories made the outfits stand out much more. London Fashion Week is up next.

NYFW

Chloe Sevigny X Opening Ceremony; 3.1 Philip Lim; Alice + Oivia

So if you didn't know, New York Fashion Week is in full swing right now. With most of the shows done, it's fit to say I've for sure found my three favorite shows. First is Chloe Sevigny X Opening Ceremony. I absolutely adored the 60s/70s women's rights theme. Picket signs, with Chloe even holding one up herself, along with awesome musicians and bands playing in the background. Bleaches, Lissy Trullie and Kim Gordon were a few of the female acts to play. Next was 3.1 Philip Lim, who I mainly loved for how the models were made up. Clean eyes, a berry lip and natural hair made all the girls look rebellious and flawless. Lastly was Alice + Olivia with amazing brocades and easily wearable separates. I can easily see myself picking up a few pieces and easily putting together an outfit. Loved it all way too much.

NYFW Street Style pt. 2

So really cool accessories from New York Fashion Week! So NYFW has ended, and right on time, London Fashion Week has started. Excited to see Christopher Kane above everything else. Something I've been seeing a lot (and I mean A LOT) lately are round sunglasses with insane details to them. Not your average John Lennon sunglasses. Like the last picture, although those must be vintage because I've never seen anything quite like them. I think I may need to do another new trend post....

NYFW Street Style Pt. 1

The first of several New York Fashion Week posts. In the upcoming days, watch for some of my favorite looks from some of my favorite designers. I love the street style the most, though at NYFW. I feel like everyone really does their best and looks their best. The outfits are more of a foreshadow of what's to come in the next seasons then the shows themselves.

NYFW 2012 Street Style Pt. 2

The last of the New York Fashion Week street style posts. I've noticed most of the street style is about perfecting the art of layering (which if you've tried, you know it's a complicated art). It's about trying to add to simplicity without looking like you've added 20 pounds. But even if you're not layering, just having some stand-out pieces (like neon sweaters or a unique coat) really do take your look a long way. Until next August, New York Fashion Week.

Rag and Bone

Creatures Of  The Wind

Karen Walker

Band of Outsiders

Christian Cota

Some more of my favorite looks from NYFW. I swear it's my last for NYFW, I just absolutely loved the looks above. Especially from Christian Cota and Creatures of The Wind which are still up and coming design labels, but have so much talent behind them. Definitely some serious stand out pieces from their collections this Fall.
