Model, muse, musician, actress, singer...you name it, Jane Birkin has done it. The former wife of the late, great Serge Gainsbourg and mother to Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou Doillon, Birkin has paved the way for what is iconic French style. With legs a mile long, Birkin was known for wearing barely there mini dresses, hotpants and thigh high boots. She sang, wrote and played with Gainsbourg on multiple albums and caused controversy for songs like "Je'taime, Moi Non Plus."But by far, the one thing that cemented Birkin's icon status was when the fashion house Hermès named their iconic handbag the "Birkin" bag, after Jane Birkin. Even years later, it is still one of the most popular (and most expensive) handbags you see today.
