An exciting new collaboration to announce! H&M is teaming up with Parisian designer Isabel Marant for a new Fall collection. Like Marni and Versace in the past, the collection will have an exclusive release date and be available both online and in stores. Although the exact release date hasn't been announced, we can pretty much bet on an October date, since H&M has chosen that month several times in the past. Watch the video for a lovely video slideshow of Paris and Marant talking about what we can expect from the collection.

rock 'n roll mansion
I usually don't like H&M campaigns. They usually feature of-the-moment models in some exotic place or in front of a white wall. But this campaign, I mean, how could I not love it. Even the name: Rock 'n Roll Mansion is awesome. When I think of rock 'n roll, I usually think of more black than white, but H&M pulled off the all white look brilliantly, giving it more of a 60s vibe. Oh, and what's the cherry on top? The model. Did you recognize her? It's Georgia May Jagger, Mick Jagger's daughter. A truly rock 'n roll campaign, H&M. Well done.

Maison Martin Margiela X H&M
So we've been reporting to you on the upcoming collaboration, and this morning, finally, the lookbook, film, inspiration and all that were released. The products range from simple to absolutely bat shit insane. But we seriously love it all. The collection, which is out November 15, even features key pieces from years past. Be warned, however, the clothing pieces may say they start at $35, but almost everything is well over $90, most of the items being $99. The accessories are mainly under $100, but a few are more, like that absolutely fucking insane leather bag in the shape of a guitar case. I need that. But that one piece is $350. So....maybe not. Anyways, I seriously have my eye on that candy clutch, deconstructed leather jacket, and silk dress, but who knows what my bank account will look like by then. Stay tuned, because I will be going there and reporting on it at 6 AM.

La grosse pomme
Some of the pictures I took in NYC before Sandy hit the East coast and the weather was warm. The first picture is the view of Manhattan from the rooftop of Sky Hotel where I was invited to a party. I feel like because there are so many skyscrapers in NYC there is always a rooftop party somewhere. If not, you can just go to one of the rooftop bars that are also in abundance. Also, if you live in NYC or are visiting, make sure you go and see Floating Kabarette show in Brooklyn. It's fairly close to Manhattan, and the tickets are cheap considering sky-high prices of bars and clubs on the island itself. The city in the rays of setting sun is New Jersey. In NYC where you don't see the sun that often, to see the whole city in sun light is pretty incredible, so I enjoyed the moment and tried to depict it on the photo. Yan Ray (see previous posts) and I on the last two pictures. I am wearing H&M t-shirt, Givenchy shorts and David Beckham for H&M tights. On the next picture, I'm wearing H&M white t-shirt, Cheap Monday jeans, vintage cape and Celine bag.

Lana Del Rey X H&M
So H&M finally released their Fall lookbook starring Lana Del Rey. Not only that, they also released a special 2 minute music video of Del Rey singing "Blue Velvet." The clothes and overall style of the shoot is more retro with a 20s to 50s vibe, which also comes across in the music video.

we all look for heaven in a pile of furs
You should have all heard about this already, since H&M announced it last week, but Lana Del Rey will be the new face for H&M this coming Fall and Christmas. The clothes, which are described by H&M as "modern and feminine" and "soft attitude." I can see why they chose Lana for a "soft attitude" look. She was, after all, signed to the same modeling agency that has Harley Vierra Newton and Alexa Chung. It was just a matter of time before she caught some coveted modeling role.

H&M X Maison Martin Margiela
After weeks of speculation, it was confirmed yesterday! H&M will be doing a men and women's line collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela. The only thing released yesterday was this video along with the launch date: November 15, 2012. While the line is still elusive, it's safe to say that it will definitely be a winter oriented line. When more information on the line, and maybe some sneak peaks along with a look book or two are released, I'll be sure to post about it ASAP!

baby, you sure look cheap
I really love the line Material Girl. I know it's pretty kitschy and tween, but take my word for it, some of the pieces are insanely great and insanely cheap. I have a snakeskin motorcycle jacket that I always get compliments on from the line and if you don't believe me, believe the line's new face. Former Muse Georgia May Jagger has been selected to represent the brand this fall. Past face's of the line include Kelly Osbourne and Taylor Momsen, but I think the line is definitely growing up by choosing Jagger to represent them. Jagger has previously been the face for brands like Chanel, H&M and Hudson Jeans, and that's naming a few. I'm really excited to see the new collection as well as the look book.

Anna Dello Russo X H&M
So you may have/most likely heard that iconic fashion director Anna Dello Russo will be designing an accessories collection for H&M. The collection, some of which is displayed above, revolves around Russo's love for ornamentation and accessories. Expect clutches, shoes, sunglasses, bracelets, necklaces and earrings among some of the items to snag. The pieces will be available October 4, which makes the announcement pretty early, but it should be available everywhere and online. H&M has also released a video about the inspiration behind Russo's collection. I'm in love with those blinged out suglasses on the bottom right. Come October, I know I'm going to be clawing my way for a pair of those.

Marni at H&M Launch
So my day yesterday started at 6:30 AM when I woke up and decided to go out for the launch. I had still been debating it. The only thing I really wanted was the sequined collar. I left my house around 7:30 and with a run to Starbucks I was at H&M at around 8, when they were supposed to open. To my surprise, there was about four people outside, then a suited up bodyguard-esque man came and escorted us to a line that seemed endless. I was given a wristband and told I would be allowed in at 10:05 AM, if there was anything left. It was too cold for me to wait around, so I went back home and watched TV.
At 9:30 AM, I left and returned to the line, that seemed to have gotten longer. The great thing was, right at that moment, they were letting all the people with orange wristbands in, which meant I didn't have to wait at all. We went in the store just to find a portion of the store fenced off, and another line to stand in. The gate had been swarming with the bodyguard-esque men and as I stood in the line, I realized some of the people around me had pink wristbands instead of orange. One of the men came over and started telling everyone with pink wristbands they had to leave. A protest started among the women (who I swear were all at least 40) and I noticed one woman go to the front of the line with a pink wristband. The woman acted as if she had a right to be let in before everyone else. She was immediately sent to the back, and boy, did she make a scene. The woman was an actress that I recognized, but will not be named (because I'm not one of those sites).
There was such a scramble when they let us through. I thought I would get an eye scratched out, claws of middle-aged women grabbing and flinging toward the ONE rack left with womens clothes. I strategically walked around the side of the rack and grabbed literally the only two item styles left: a pair of pink pajama style tap shorts and a brown leather vinyl top with sweater sleeves. I was fortunate enough to get both in my size and I was first to go into the dressing room. The leather top made me look like a Spanish conquistador ready for battle, but the tap shorts were surprisingly flattering. I immediately imagined them with a vintage rock tee and leather jacket, to tone down the bubble gum pink color. They were perfect, and I made my way out. On the floor of the fitting room entrance were around five bags filled with Marni for H&M clothes that were not on the racks. I proceeded to grab an item when some woman snapped at me, saying everything was hers. She was an older woman, in her 50s, doing God knows what with bags of clothes. Ebay. I left with those great shorts in a cool durable plastic green bag with Marni at H&M stamped on the front. I felt bad for all the people still in line. Waiting for hours, just to find out there was nothing left. But what do you expect from a store that wants this. That wants the scramble, the claws out, the strong desire for lines starting at 5 AM. It's publicity. It's marketing. It's sinister. It's brilliant.

Marni for H&M look book video
I LOVE this look book video! I usually love look book videos, but this is a pretty mellow video, very "let me go to a cafe on the French riviera" laid back feel, but what is so awesome about this video is the fact that it's directed by Sofia Coppola. I adore her. Therefore, I adore this video.

Versace for H&M (again)
Versace for H&M Spring 2012
So I don't know if this is going to be a recurring thing, but here we go again. Versace has created another line for H&M, but interestingly enough, the collection will ONLY be available online. Whether you can return the items in-store, will yet to be seen. I remember the day the line came out, it disappeared in just a few hours. Like it was an urban legend, or something. And now, months later, you can still choose from the left-overs that have been returned back to stores. Anyways, above are a couple of the pieces that really caught my eye. Although they may be a little too cheeky for me, I may just buy the fruit printed shorts in white (my favorite outfit when I was 2 was a pair of white overalls with an all-over strawberry print, a bit nostalgic for me).
The entire collection will be available online at H&M.com January 19.
